いよいよ今週の金曜日7/23日に東京オリンピックが開催される。でも開催式は２０時からだというから、放映権を持つアメリカNBC放送時間の都合も考えたに違いない。アメリカ東部は同じ日の午前７時だと思うから西海岸は朝の４時という事になる。
前回のブログで今回のオリンピック騒動については、オリンピックが提唱された2005年からさかのぼって今年まで見たが、やはり直前になっても不安はぬぐえない。余りに考えられない問題が次から次へと起こるので、不安を通り越して何か呪われているような恐怖さえ感じてしまうのだ。東京が真夏で暑いだろうからとマラソン競技は札幌に移ったが、なんと北海道でも真夏日で、東部の方は３７度以上という体温より高い気温だそうで、早朝のレースできっとより安全に行われる事だろう。
しかし、来日選手団や役員の中にもコロナ患者が発生していて、バブル方式で完璧に安心安全を担保するはずだったのに、そのバブルにはあちこちほころびがあるようにも思う。小さな穴ならすぐ直せるだろうから大きくならないうちに、安心安全を確実なものにしてほしい。
「終わりよければすべてよし」と一国民として、オリンピックが終了することを願うばかりである。
Just before the Tokyo Olympics #6
Finally, the Tokyo Olympics will be held this Friday, July 23. However, the opening ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m., so they must have thought about the broadcast time of NBC in the US, which holds the broadcasting rights. I think it's 7 a.m. in the eastern part of the U.S., which means it's 4 a.m. on the west coast.
In my last blog, I looked at the current Olympic fiasco from 2005, when the Olympics were first proposed, all the way back to this year, but I still can't shake the feeling of anxiety even just before the event. There are so many unthinkable problems coming up one after the other that I'm not only worried but even afraid that I'm being cursed. The marathon race was moved to Sapporo because it was supposed to be hot in Tokyo in the middle of summer, but to my surprise, it was also the middle of summer in Hokkaido, and the temperature in the eastern part of the island was over 37 degrees Celsius, higher than my body temperature.
However, corona cases have been reported among the visiting athletes and officials, and although the bubble system was supposed to ensure perfect safety and security, it seems that the bubble has some holes here and there. The bubble was supposed to be a perfect guarantee of safety and security.
"All's well that ends well," as a citizen, I can only hope that the Olympics will come to an end.
