なんとも日本国民には頭の痛かったガソリン価格の高騰に、やっと政府の抜本的な政策が決まった。しかし、これはアメリカ大統領からの要請もあり決めた事なので、多少は下がっても産油国が増産しなければ、やはり世界的な石油のひっ迫は変わらないような気もする。日本国民以上に米国民のガソリンの値上がりを含む物価の上昇は、バイデン大統領の支持率にも大きく影響しているからである。私がアメリカを訪問したころは3.8Ｌが＄１前後であったが今は＄4.50くらいになっているようで、それだけでも4.5倍の値段になっているのである。同じころ日本がもし１Ｌが￥150くらいだったとしたら、今は１Ｌが￥675の値段という事になってしまうから、いかに高くなったかが実感できる事だろう。
脱炭素化が世界的に問題になり化石燃料への風当たりは、大変厳しくはなってきている。その事は私は否定しないがそれに代わる無害の代替燃料がまだしっかり確立されていない時に、いきなり脱炭素化を実行してよいものかとも思うのである。SDGSは大切な事だとおもうが、余りにも影響が大きい脱酸素化は、慣れない我々を苦しめるだけのようにも思うのである。
地球環境について声高に警鐘を鳴らす若者たちは、自分たちの存在が生きてゆくだけで地球を汚しているという事を考えたことがあるのだろうか、夏の冷房や冬の暖房をやはり享受し、車での移動も利用しているだろう。
アメリカ東部にアーミッシュという1800年代の生活を、今だにかたくなに守って生活している村がある。若者よそういう生活をまず経験して環境問題を話してみるのはどうだろうか、と提案したい。日本でいえば江戸村であろうか、水道も電気もガスも水洗トイレもない長屋暮らし、多分２日と持たないだろう。
でもそんな彼らが、脱酸素化を否定するような国家備蓄の石油放出に反対しているなど聞かないのは、やはり石油に恩恵を受けている生活をしているに違いない！

As decarbonization has become a global issue, fossil fuels have come under increasing scrutiny. I don't deny that, but I wonder if we should suddenly start decarbonizing when we haven't yet established a harmless alternative to fossil fuels, and I think that SDGS is important, but I also think that deoxygenation with too great an impact will only make us suffer if we are not used to it.
I wonder if the young people who are so vocal about the global environment have ever thought about the fact that they are polluting the earth just by living on it.
In the eastern part of the United States, there is an Amish village that still maintains the lifestyle of the 1800s. I would like to suggest that young people should first experience such a lifestyle and talk about environmental issues. They live in tenement houses without running water, electricity, gas, or flush toilets, and they probably won't last more than two days.
But they must be living a life benefiting from oil, because we don't hear of them opposing the release of oil from the national reserve, which would negate deoxygenation!
