経済ニュースを見ていて今年売れたものを特集していた。どれも今までの常識を覆すものばかりで、私の古い頭では到底考え付かない物ばかりであった。
まず、パジャマスーツである。オンライン勤務が普通になり家からネットで会議に参加するのであるが、やはりネットでもそれなりのスーツのような服を着る必要があるのだろうか、自宅だからくつろいだ格好もしたいだろうに顔や上半身が映るZOOM会議では、やはりそれなりの格好が必要なのだろう。でもZOOMは４Kほど解像度は良くはないので、一見そのような格好をしていたら済むのかもしれない。そしてその会議がおわったら、自宅のソファーでくつろげるパジャマスーツは打ってつけなのだろう。そのうち外出もOKのパジャマスーツができるかもしれない。
そしてもう一品はローソンから出た単品おかず（ウインナーソーセージ数本入り）弁当だそうだ。私ならまず買わないだろうが、安くて好きな物だけが入っているからか、それにプラスして他のおかずなどと一緒に爆発的に売れているそうである。コンビニの弁当と言っても５～６００円はかかるから、やはり値段で売れているのだと思う。長く日本人にしみ込んだデフレマインドは、すぐには消えないのだろう。
ほかに食パンを縦に切ったのではなく横に切り、巻きずしのように中に野菜やカツなどを入れ手巻きずしのノリのように撒いて食べる、サンドイッチブレッドが売れているとの事であった。こんな発想、やはり考え付く人は凄いと思う。
今年もあとわずかである。来週もう一回このブログを書いてお休みをいただきたいと思う。コロナも心配であるが、何とか今年も元気で年が超えられることに感謝である。12/20からは冬期講座も始まるから、受験生は健康に気を付けて頑張ってほしい。
Products that sold very well this year
I was watching an economic news program and they were featuring things that sold well this year. All of them were things that overturned conventional wisdom, things that my old mind could never have imagined.
First, there was the pajama suit. Online work has become the norm, and we can participate in meetings from home via the Internet, but I wonder if it is necessary to wear something like a suit even on the Internet. Since we are at home, we may want to dress comfortably, but in a ZOOM meeting where our face and upper body are visible, I guess we need to dress appropriately. But the resolution of ZOOM is not as good as 4K, so you may be able to get away with looking like that. And when the meeting is over, the pajama suit will be perfect for relaxing on the couch at home. Eventually, a pajama suit that allows you to go out may be made.
The other item was a bento box from Lawson with a few sausages as a side dish. I wouldn't buy it if I were you, but it is selling like hotcakes, probably because it's cheap and contains only the things I like, plus other side dishes. Even a bento from a convenience store costs 5 to 600 yen, so I guess the price is what makes it sell. The deflationary mindset that has been ingrained in the Japanese people for a long time will not disappear anytime soon.
Another product that is selling well is sandwich bread, which is made by cutting a loaf of bread horizontally instead of vertically. I think it's amazing that people can come up with such an idea.
This year is almost over. I'm going to write this blog one more time next week and take a break. I'm also worried about Corona, but I'm thankful that I'll be able to finish the year in good health.
